I was here 3 years ago exactly for a suicide attempt that landed me in the ER and I just wanted to give my thanks. Great staff, they really do care. Food was good, group therapy was definitely helpful, made some friends during my stay. I would go back if needed but I feel like I'm in a really good place now. About to start a family in a month and definitely in a better head space nowadays. So thank you Palmetto

The staff here are over worked but full of love. This place saved me life and I promise you all the negative reviews are people who can’t admit their own problems or didn’t like the right ship they run. This place is where I needed to be when I was close to explosion mode.

I recently stayed here for 8 days. The staff was spectacular- they actually care about their work and more importantly the patients that they work with. Legitimately shocked to see so many bad reviews when they are literally saving people’s lives. It’s truly amazing how much my life has changed for the better since I was hospitalized here. Thanks all!

I stayed here May 28 2018-June 7 2018 and this place is awesome!!! All the people that worked there were so nice and supportive. I honestly didn’t want to leave cause I was in a safe place with no judgement and positivity everywhere. The groups every hour are fantastic. I left this place feeling great. I attempted suicide and soon as I got there I was welcomed and everyone made me feel just so happy. I made friends for life in there. These people are now my support system. We all got each other and I was very thankful.

I have had to stay at Palmetto several times. The staff & Drs are usually very helpful. The food is pretty good. My only complaint is the mixing of potentially violent patients with the non-violent. The staff can't possibly watch these people 24/7. Very dangerous. There were also patients there who were not actually ill and were just "set up" by someone and taken in by the police. That is not the fault of the hospital it's just the law which needs improving. However I will probably come back to this hospital if I need to.

I was recently involuntarily committed to the Behavior Center. The Staff was great. Donovan, Tre, Jeff and Eddie are great counselors and listen very well. I was given a wonderful social worker/ counselor Mrs Natalie ( I believe that's the right name) changed my perspective towards my anger. She helped me to see both sides of drugs. I showed her how addicts truly feel and think. She showed me people want to help us its just they don't know how. This is a wonderful place with great staff, help, information and food. Thank you for all your help

I'm 17 and went because I was suicidal. More freedom than at the place in Aiken but less clean, bugs on the walls dirt everywhere. At least you get to lock the bathroom door lol. Food was pretty good but most of the staff was just rude and very controlling. One lady we called the fun police because it seemed no matter how harmless or innocent if we were enjoying ourselves she put a stop to it. Beds are okay. Made some friends for the time so it wasn't miserable. Wasn't miserable and would probably go back if needed

My stay here was involuntary. Upon arrival I was greated with respect but no with answer as to how thing work as I was nervous about what was to come. I then found out that i was to remain under observation for 7-10 days regardless of results in my health, behavior, or eagerness to leave. Patients can expect 4-5 mandatory group sessions a day and 4-5 times a day of being asked the same questions (are you wanting to hurt yourself, any medication side affects, last bowel movement etc..). Cafeteria trips are only allowed to patients with good behavior and who have been there at least 72hrs. The food is bland. The phones are available most throughout the day except for lights out and group times. 7days I stayed, and I sat and watched the floors accumulate more and more trash and dust each day. On my first day there, my medication doseage was doubled for no reason and they claimed to have notes that I was not previously on meds (I have been). My side of the story of my acknowledgements and observations on my own health were ignored. I was however respected when I requested to see each pill label before consumption. Overall, my stay was not too bad due to the kindness of the staff. But my individual needs were not addressed fully as groups seemed to be most important to Palmetto Health. Use caution if your loved one is attmitted here and stay on top of medication changes. I myself benefitted little from my stay, but I did witness others who claimed that Palmetto was the right fit for them.

The PHP/iOP team is amazing; they are truly caring individuals that help you recognize, treat, and manage your disease. It's all about chasing happy; how to start that process and continue beyond ..thank you Maggie, Payton, Joyce, Barbara, Dr. Lopez and the rest of the amazing team at Palmetto. I am very grateful

Maggie is the outpatient therapist for PHP and IOP. She is amazing. She cares about each and every patient she works with. She provides CBT therapy. If you are having trouble with PTSD, bipolar, anxiety disorder, panic disorder, or depression-I highly recommend her. She loves her job, the people she works with and she does her best to make each and every patient better. I love Maggie and am so grateful for her. She makes me smile. The only drawback are the bathrooms. Many of the doors do not lock and they are falling apart. The bathrooms REALLY need to be redone.

This is a medical facility no one wants to be here, but it does help. I spent 6 days voluntary and other than being a very bare environment, I adjusted and participated. The nursing staff for the most part was fantastic, they were always there to listen and explain. The doctors were a bit short with "bedside" activity, but it's to be expected when the medical industry just looks at patients as a number. I'm certain the treatment looks different in each ward, section, area.... I think I was in 4. It was a very rough time getting there, but I'm glad I did. If you or a loved one needs mental health treatment, no place is going to be appealing. Palmetto Lowcountry is there to help.

Very helpful, the group sessions were extremely helpful and the bonding amongest the patience is a great way to understand you are not alone in this journey from darkness to light.

The social worker, Ms. Maggie was so wonderful towards me and the other patients I was with. The food was decent and I loved that they had alternatives for those who didn't like what was originally for dinner. They have great soup, too lol. I stayed for 6 days. I fell really hard on the floor while I was there and they took great care of me. Decent facility, very clean. They should, however, fix the gymnasium, it's depressing in there lol
